Revenue Reports Up

Posted on January 14, 2010 at 2:51:40 PM
We have updated the revenue reports with the current data we have from our sources. This should be considered preliminary data and will probably be updated in a few days time. The reports will be correct from 2010-01-14 and on. Reports from 2010-01-06 to 2010-01-13 will probably fluctuate while we get better data from that time period. As we get more information, we will update you.

Revenue Reports Still Delayed

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on January 12, 2010 at 2:02:54 AM
We find the situation unacceptable but we are still waiting on the data provider to release updated reports. The data is there, but a bug in their system is preventing the reports from being generated on their end. Hopefully this situation will be resolved on Tuesday. We are in constant contact with the data provider to expedite the resolution.

The data provider is having a few issues with reporting starting from 2010-01-07. We don't expect this to be remedied before the end of the weekend. Once Monday rolls around, we'll be sure to get the revenue reports up to date. Sorry for the delay.

As Server1 was processing its log files, Apache segfaulted which happened at about 9AM UTC. Ads and shopping pages should have been up for the most part since Server2 was running without a problem. Apache is up and running again on Server1 and we're investigating the problem.

Deals Rolling Out This Week

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on December 14, 2009 at 2:57:14 PM
We'll be rolling out a soft release of the new Deals section at ASE Adnet. This is a manual posting thing so we're aiming for high quality deals only. We'll be looking up new deals daily all over the internet from merchants and even other deals sites to bring you the best possible deals.

There is a publisher API RSS feed that goes along with the Deals section as well, more on that at a later date. If you are interested in using Deals on your own site, please contact us.

Deals Page And RSS Coming Soon

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on December 4, 2009 at 11:54:27 PM
We're beginning to create a brand new section at ASE Adnet for bringing publishers the ability to bring the last deals and coupons to your readers. This section builds on the new Links that were added recently. We're interested in feedback on how you (the publisher) would like the deals page and/or RSS feed to function and what content to put in. A deals page will be able to bring extra traffic to your sites and provide a good bit of revenue as well. Since this new system builds on the Links system, it will be CPS. We plan on adding many more merchants for this new area at ASE Adnet.

Links: GameStop Added And Commission Reports Coming

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 30, 2009 at 12:55:36 PM
We've added GameStop to the Links system and like Walmart, GameStop doesn't have an easy to digest way of searching for products so the best way to drive traffic to individual pages is to use the ASE Adnet Affiliate Link Bookmarklet in the Links area.

We already have commissioned sales from the Links system! We're working on a new report (Commission) that will display whatever commissions you have along with the sale amount and percentage you'll get from the sale. The new commission reports will be a flowing report that might change due to returns or increasing in percentages for performance. We anticipate a release of this report by tomorrow.

Links: Walmart Added

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 25, 2009 at 2:58:53 PM
The first big retailer has hit ASE Adnet's Link section for everyone to use. While ASE Adnet caters to the computer and electronic crowd, we strive to offer advertisements for all product categories. We haven't integrated direct to ASE Adnet product searching from Walmart yet so you'll have to use the bookmarklet or grab a direct link if you want to link to products right now.

This will be the last update before Thanksgiving. We have much bigger plans than just adding more merchants to the Links section. We're working on a few ideas for dynamic content. That's all we'll expose for now.

Happy Thanksgiving if we don't post an update tomorrow!

Links: Best Buy Added

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 25, 2009 at 12:07:01 AM
We know we said we expected two new merchants to be added, but we feel that Best Buy was good enough to be released on its own. We'll be releasing more merchants for the Links system in the coming days as well. Don't worry about Black Friday being missed if you can't implement Links quickly on your sites, there is plenty of time to get revenue in the future.

More Links Merchants Tomorrow

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 23, 2009 at 10:21:09 PM
We anticipate at least a couple of new merchants added to the new Links section (Ad CP -> Affiliate Links) along with some other minor updates. In addition, we'll be looking over the best way to provide hybrid product ads. Expected testing for hybrid ads will be next week for the staging area and will be an optional thing for each publisher.

A word about Links; most merchants allow the affiliate cookie to last for a month or so. Regardless if you make a sale on the first click out is not important. If the reader makes a purchase at a later date from your Link, you still get the credit. That's why giving readers more information about products before sending them to the merchant is important. Allow them to make good purchases and your revenue will flow in much more.

One more thing, we are eying another possible revenue stream that may include a feed to work well. We'll have more information as this progresses. We would love to hear your feedback, our email address is listed on the Ad CP page.

ASE Adnet Theme Changes

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 22, 2009 at 2:41:33 PM
If you haven't noticed, ASE Adnet is undergoing some theme changes. We are working on keeping the layout a bit more simplistic and getting you the information you need to make money, fast. We've also updated the CPC adcode page simple generator with a brand new color picker from jscolor. If you are getting problems on the adcode page, make sure you hard refresh to grab the new javascript files. We are working on more theme changes soon, if you have any thoughts or ideas, the email address to use is listed in the Ad CP.

Ad CP And Links Active

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 21, 2009 at 2:20:37 PM
We are happy to announce that the new Ad CP and Links sections are ready to go. The top "Adcode" nav link has been replaced by the new Ad CP link you now see. Clicking the Ad CP will bring you to a landing page with useful information on what ads to get (either traditional CPC ads or the new Links). There are other helpful tidbits of info on that page as well, so be sure to check it out.

Links are still quite new and we ask, if you use them, please make sure you'll be able to edit anyone you put out if we find any sort of bugs (which we don't expect too).

In this update is a new report available in the reports section for Links. The tracking report will give you a broad overview of the Links you send to merchants, but the new link report will show you this information by merchant. We are also in the process of increasing the amount of information in these reports (we'll be adding additional graph views) to help you better manage your ads.

If you have questions or concerns, send an email to the address in the Ad CP area.

Soft Rollout Of Links Complete

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 19, 2009 at 1:21:24 PM
We've completed the rollout of the new Links system and we're excited that publishers want to jump in and make more money. We are asking publishers to hold off on using the new system unless you are able to modify the links (just in case we discover errors) in a timely fashion. We expect no errors, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Please contact the email located in the adcode section to start using this new system.

By the way, the Links addition ushers in a new CPS merchant... Newegg! Now you can make money by sending traffic to everyone's favorite technology store.

What does a Link look like? Like this:

Links Update

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 18, 2009 at 7:04:16 PM
We are pushing the release of Links till tomorrow (November 19, 2009). We're making sure we have everything right the first time but we expect a few requests and additions to be made. This new release will come with an Advertisement CP area to explain the differences between the traditional Adnet ads and the Links.

Links Coming + More

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 17, 2009 at 10:47:02 AM
Our goal is to maximize publisher's revenue stream and to do this, we need to look elsewhere than just CPC revenue streams. We're about to roll out Amazon CPS affiliate links to our publishers. The Links will be just that, a link. No Javascript, no ad view, just a plain normal link. These Links won't expire and can be used anywhere on your sites. The link will give you a percentage of revenue from Amazon's site. We're looking to give publishers a high percentage of the revenue from this plan depending on how well received it is. You'll be able to use Links to show off products or just drive traffic to Amazon's site in general. In a few days, we'll have a helper Amazon shopping page (just like the current »CPC shopping page today). Amazon is a CPS source. You'll make money when people buy products. CPS offers the publishers more money for quality traffic.

In addition, we're looking at doing hybrid CPC ads that incorporate CPS sources in the same ad. The hybrid ads can be additive or replacement based. We're still looking at ways to make this work, but these are just ideas to make publishers more money. If you have any ideas, please let us know in the adcode section.

Tracking Reports Have Filtering

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 15, 2009 at 1:22:54 PM
Another upgrade to the reporting features of ASE Adnet has arrived. The tracking report will now filter out bots and crawlers from the view and click data for the majority of known bots. We can't catch everything, but the view data should be more in-line with human only traffic. This will make the new revenue report more accurate as well.

Revenue Reports Upgraded

Posted on November 14, 2009 at 11:57:23 PM
Based on much feedback, we've enhance the revenue report view considerably. The revenue report will pull view data from the tracking report (raw) to provide more detailed feedback on performance including eCPM and other factors. The report has more information to look at and also included updates for when ASE Adnet once again goes into the CPS/CPA markets to maximize revenue streams for our publishers. We're looking into ways to make you more money than just CPC so stay tuned.

Backend Frontend Updates Tomorrow

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 13, 2009 at 12:23:57 AM
We're testing some new features to make publisher's lives easier. We'll be adding a new feature to the frontend to allow publishers to add global variables to all ads they have. The best use of this is for adding generic default keywords if the specific ad doesn't have any.

Along with that feature, we'll be doing some updates (code overhaul) to the backend to bring enhancements and fixes. We love hearing from publishers, your feedback is always welcome. Use the email address on the adcode page to send an email to us.

CPM Additions Possible

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 6, 2009 at 11:35:41 PM
ASE Adnet is considering adding a CPM system in addition to the CPC system Adnet currently uses. We are currently looking at technology related advertisements and have inventory for 728x90, 300x250, and 160x600. We need publishers that are interested to email us (address listed in the adcode page). We need how many impressions you can serve and if you currently have CPM ads, how much your CPM rates are. We are looking for what we should be charging the advertisers for the ads. We are looking to get publishers more money for ads.

Ad Switchup

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on September 29, 2009 at 10:12:17 PM
A reminder to all publishers that it is a good idea to rotate your ad colors and look every few months to keep things fresh and keep the CTR high. Some publishers achieve a CTR of over 5% with good layouts. You can too! If you would like comments or help creating a fresh layout, please send an email to the address listed in the adcode page.

Minor Errors Happening - Fixed

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on September 29, 2009 at 10:03:45 PM
We are aware of some issues from the data provider side of things. We're working on stabilizing everything with them right now. Hopefully the problems should clear up soon. We'd love to rush the problems away, but it is out of our control since it isn't Adnet that has the problem. It will be fixed soon.

Edit: Looks like it is all cleared up.
